  • New Lighting Today

Well I bought some new lighting today ( 4 x 24W – T5 HO 6500k Fluorescent) off of ebay. It was cheap as expected, the mounting didn't quite fit right, it seems pretty flimsy overall and it puts off a ton of heat.

It does however light up the tank really well and I can have 2 or 4 bulbs on at once so I can quickly go between 2 and 4 watts per gallon (25 gal tank).

There is a picture on my blog, but it is a light nothing magical, the post does have updated pictures on my Berried OEBT, if you want to check that out.

Anyone used one of these or similar lights (http://www.ebay.com/itm/290673738313...ht_1674wt_1101)

I will say that the lack of instructions was lame but I made it work eventually.

The moonlights give it a decent effect at night but the position of the LEDs are poor and light up the back of only. Basically it is like a blueish silhouette. Looks decent as a room decoration at night but not really good for viewing.
