what you talking about hfb only having hornwort? the scape looks nice if only you had more stones also where did you get this substrate and how much did this cost I dont want to wait for the group buy and need something now. I think once I find a decent glass diffuser then I can fill up my tank and get some erios thinking about cinerum or japan

I'm about to do a water test in a bit.

The bag label $77 for 25lbs which is 12.5L and Aquasoil is $28 for 9L.

          $77/12.5L = $6.16 per liter for brightwell
          $28/9L = $3.11 per liter for aquasoil

So if you want to pay double be my guess.

Ok This is my water testing result so far from Day 0. I did a 80/20 RO/Tap in my 20 gallon. I haven't seeded my tank yet and also haven't decide if i should seed the tank with old filter to make the process go faster.

Let me know if you want me to test something.

Test - Day starting from 0|1|2| so on

            PH - 6.0|6.8
            Ammonia - 0|.25
            Nitrite - 0|0
            Nitrate - 0|40
            GH - 0|5
            KH - 0|3
            TDS - 8|156

With signs of ammonia off the bat like that and Nitrate already showing I would hold off on the seeding... I don't know what goes on at your house but it's probably best to keep each tank separate from each other.

If it is anything like aquasoil it should have an ammonia spike to kill everything, after that it should fall slowly if I remember correctly. Great readings and numbers, I so need a TDS meter...

This is the picture took for the RO

And this is at Day 1

Also on the side note I did use BT-9 to boost the bacteria speed rate. I wondering if that is eating up the ammonia and turn it to nitrate faster. I'm going to do a water change today to clear up the nitrate.

That stuff could be whats giving the readings.

I've been busy family stuff so I couldn't do a day to day water test. I just did a water change yesterday so I'll do a water test on Thursday for the one week.

Here's the picture of the tank so far.

No the background is some crappy yoga mat so I can what's going on in the tank. On my next water change I'm going to paint the back all black.

I was thinking filling the whole tank with HC & blyxa jap or do full Eriocaulon tank for the slow grow .

Also I'm doing my ADG 90H Planted Tank with the same soil once FG get some Rio Escuro-M.

Have you looked into Window tint film you use on your house? I have it on my tanks, and it looks great! Easy to install too. You can just use a spray bottle with regular water in it, no need for their application solution. I was afraid that the tint wouldn't be 100% opaque, but with the lights on it blacks out the rear pane of glass perfectly. Also easy to remove later down the road. I got it from Home Depot. It's their privacy tint.

I see they even have super limo black!
