I am looking to get me a desktop tank for shrimp. Does anyone have any recommendations? I am looking at the fluval spec as an option right now any thoughts?

Spec has an overflow, which means it's going to probably suck in all the babies. If you don't mind not having many babies, it is a good tank with good filtration. The ecopico is a good tank as well. The Fluval Edge is a bit big, but really cool. You can add a prefilter sponge to the intake to the filters to prevent babies from being sucked up. Fluval makes a good one made of a fine sponge designed for the edge, but it works well for any HOB filter.

Can't edit for some reason. Eheim has their new tanks. I think they were the Aquastyle. I would go with the 16 (4gallons) for a desktop aquarium. They make a 6 and 9 gallon, but that might get too big. The filter is good and it comes with a light that will grow simple plants. It's clean and self-contained.

A lot of these tanks offer a glass top.

I really love my Fluval Flora. Awesome for the price too. Has a lid. Or the Mr. Aqua bookshelf ones, those are cool too!

I like the Ebi and Flora, never had any experience with any of the others. I will be eventually upgrading my teeny Sulawesi pico to a nice rimless ADA or Do Aqua or GLA, but they are just the tank.
