  • Black substrate for CBS

What's a good black substrate that will help with ph and good for plant growth? There was one I saw but for the life of me I can't remember the name of it. Setting up a biocube 14 in 2 days so I just need substrate and shrimp and it's good to go.

the flourite back comes as a regular size and a fine sand too. note that is has tons of Al, Ca, and Na in it when you compare to the regular flourite so i would think that it might affect your kH

thats what I was wondering about. I might look into ADA then because from what i've learned it puts the parameters right on the dot or pretty close to it.

there is a 16 gallon thread in this section where brightwell was used to lower pH but its pricey...i have seen others using amazonia for the same reason but have never used it myself

yea just noticed the shortage of it here. Is ADG just not getting it as often or something? I know it's like the top of the line soil for planted tanks so one could guess it would disappear from everywhere.

i think they are having trouble importing things from nippon right now, maybe people dont like glowy soil. i bet the disaster jacked up the raw material that they use for amazonia
