ADG's been saying that their shipment is a couple or three weeks away for months now. I wonder if they realize that their losing business to California.

Yeah, I usually like to buy local as I did with the Brightwell in my other tank. I just could not justify spending around $200 in substrate for the 40. I hope they are able to get some in soon...I know a lot of people are waiting.

Today's update...Added another Hagen GLO Fixture and flooded the tank.

Ok finally have some updates. I my wife gave birth to our second child two weeks ago and things have been a little busy. The 40 breeder cycled a while back and I have scaped it and added livestock. Inhabitants are Chili Rasboras, and yellow Neos for now. Also added a few different mosses.ImageUploadedByTapatalk1341795210.691053.jpg

The 10 gallon on the left has OEBT's and the one on the right has Sakura reds, painted fire reds, fire reds and my Tylos.

I started working on it again this weekend. I have been buying equipment slowly over the last month( another 40 breeder, Seachem Matrix, eheim, etc.). For this 40 breeder, I wanted to put dividers in to make it a 3 chamber tank, so here are some pics of the process. Also used UGF for this tank.ImageUploadedByTapatalk1341796499.846200.jpg

By the way baby water, Hawaiian Punch, and Basmati Rice works great to hold baffles in place.

I really like the 3 chambered tank . 1 tank , shared filtration , no inbreeding . very NICE .

Thanks, that's most of the reason I went this route. I was considering a few 10 gal tanks. I weighed the benefits of both. The benefits of this router were 1 filter instead of 3-4, larger water volume= more stability, and it would not have been practical to do UGF on 10 gal tanks. The only pitfall that I have considered is if the tank were to get contaminated with a bacteria, fungus, etc. all shrimp would be vulnerable. But if I'm careful, I should be OK.

                  The rack looks nice!

You are putting aquasoil in the bottom of the three chambered tanker, correct? And there is a gap at the bottom of the baffles to allow for the UGF?

Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.

                    Thanks Tim.

Yeah I will put Seachem Matrix in between the 2 pieces of PVC then top with Amazonia. There is a 1 inch gap between the floor of the tanks and the baffles to allow for the UGF. It should also allow for the water to flow evenly between the chambers.
