They arem't the most lively of pets. However, when they are trying to crawl out of your hand, they are fast little boogers.

There are a huge variety of colors / species. I'd like to get my hands on the Blue Dart variety. The Vampires that we got in are the Yellow Bicolor. There is an Orange Bicolor/Carnival Vampire (the kind I had before). There are tons of diffrent colors. There is also a Mandarin Crab, which is in the same genus (Geosesarma) but smaller. In the wild they are reported to inhabbit a variety of diffrent humid enviroments from rice paddies and irrigation ditches to trees. The Germans and Brits have been keeping these for years, but we're only now getting them. The Bicolors and Red Devils seem to be the only ones I've seen here in the US for now.

I found them to be more active than the vampires. Though my vampires fight more. I had one this evening lose a hing leg.

Parathelphusa pantherina (Panther Crabs) come in 5 color varieties: red, brown, purple (all of which look brown), leopard stpotted, and white claw. They are mean little boogers. They are purely freshwater aquatic. I bought some from FG 1 1/2 years ago. They escaped.

Geosesarma notophorum ( comonly called Mandarin Crabs athough the Orange Crab G. krathing is sometimes called this too) keep them like the Yellow Eyed/ Yellow Bicolor Vampire Crabs (Geosesarma sp. "vampire"), the kind we just had brought in.
