  • Assassin snails!

I introduce this guys probably 4 months ago to control the MTS, and also the ramshorn snails, and well they definitively did, because what I thought first about a month ago were MTS it appears now I have an over population of assassins.

since maybe this should go over the trade section, I just first wanted to double check if this little guys look like assasins posting pic.

If they do, I will probably be giving away assassins whenever someone needs them, since I guess there are no assassin snails for the assassin snails :),

Also I have an overpopulation of snow shrimp and plain vanilla Neocaridina if someone wants shrimp please ping me, but I will not suggest to mix them with any other neo. since now I have wild genus.

When I introduce the snows I thought i didn't had any cherry left but well I guess it was hiding that is why i have now wilds.

here is a pic of the wild neo.

as far as I can tell, any fish besides ottos will be a risk for shrimplets, now not sure if tetras will try and chase bigger shrimp, but you can always try.

and well looking at the snails again I thought those were assasin babies but, no they are still MTS, they are few now thanks to the assasins. I thought they were not MTS since my assasins are mating but it appears they take a long time to really increment their number.

oh there are plants... im keeping ghost shrimp and a couple bamboo shrimp (looking forward to expanding their numbers ) in a large tank, but would love to keep different types in other tanks as well. i already have assassins, and mine are breeding also.

its a long process, i have noticed that the assassins wont attack MTS that are much smaller than they are so to get rid of the small ones you have to wait for them to grow out or hope that the assassins breed.

dwarf shrimp may get along with bamboo shrimp but i have read that they may get bullied or outright eaten by 'ghost' types and even amanos.
