            • So with the recent mini crash should I look at adding more shrimp now or waiting? Tested a few days ago and got 20 nitrate. I have about 10 shrimp left.

              • 20 Nitrate is not out of the ordinary for an established planted tank. That is generally the recommended level for plant fertilization and will help control some lower algaes.

                • Should I wait some more time before trying to rebuild my colony?

                  • 10 shrimp should rebuild a colony if they are adults. I'd maintain them for a month and see if there are any further issues before adding any more stock. Watch for females and any that might be more sensitive. Once you succeed with your first clutch and offspring it is the best indicator of a good environment.

                    • Ok so far the only babies I've had in the tank were from a female that was berried when it was added.
