MTS invasion!

The goal is to teach her how to properly maintain her tank & care for her fish & then hope she keeps up with it. My thought process was with a pair of assassin snails and/or a clown loach she could knock out any snails in the future. She seems to want to do this the right way, but I'll have to see how receptive she is to learning once we really get started. For all I know once we break it down, she's liable to just give up when she sees how much work she has ahead of her.

she needs to start with the water change first if she ever wants to keep an aquarium. if weekly is too much then try light stock and biweekly water change. with that many MTS you will need at least 10 assassin. a pair is only for light problem like my tank the pair of sins is for hitchhikers on the plants I bought. a clown loach might be a bad idea, I heard you have to keep clown in group and they get big so the tank will have to be big

We are tossing the substrate completely. She won't need more than a couple assassins after we annihilate the rest with bleach. They're more of a preventative measure "just in case" she has a random snail in the future. Nixxing the clown loach idea, lol.

if she doesnt do water change often, assassins is the safer and cheaper option. they are very low maintenance.

They grow extremely slow from what I've heard. I've never had them and never will. Something about them just doesn't appeal to me enough to own them. Clown loach and assassin snails won't work together. You either choose one or the other. The loach will eat the snail.

All I can do is hope she keeps up with it after I'm done helping her. She's got her hands full. She fosters cats & dogs, has this tank & at least 2 kids. I just hope she can find time for the fish or find new homes for them.

how about some floaters they grow fast and they gorge ammonia like crazy... my tank is constantly 0 on everything... but she'll need to thin them out every 1 or 2 week
