I'd toss some floaters in there as well. They are great nitrate and ammonia sinks. I don't really do water changes in the 5g anymore because of all the plants, but I'll do a 10-20% every now and then.

I have a ton of frogbit, duckweed, and some hornwort for free if she does plan to go that route.

Thanks, Steven. I'll keep that in mind & let her know. If you have enough, I'm in the process of adding some plants to some of my tanks as well. With 13 tanks, the water changes are a killer, lol.

I'll pull some more for you if you want. It doesn't grow as fast as it would if I were to have a bigger tank. My floaters are limited to a 10"x10" area
