  • My Shrimp Tank

Wanted to start a low maintenance shrimp tank. Thanks to Tim (armthehomeless) he sold me what I needed. I never could see the shrimp but today I finally saw them and they actually have some color. I have sakura shrimp, cardinal shrimp, bororas merah fish, anubias, crypts and hygrophilia plants. Thanks to Sasha & Roy for giving me some more crypts and hygrophilia plants. I have been feeding them Spectrum grow every 3 days and they are really growing. Doing a 50% water change every 2 weeks. Do not know if that is too often or not.

        Re: My Snail Tank

I'd reduce the percentage on water changes ... that tank looks nice.

Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.

Thanks Roy, I am looking forward to seeing them grow out as well. The fish and shrimps were so small when I first put them in the tank.

Glad you're finally getting to see the shrimp! lol. They usually get a little braver as the tank matures and their numbers blow up.

Maybe 15-20% WC every 2 weeks?

I'm happy the plants are doing well for you, I know they were a little rough but they look great now. Yeah, once that giant hygro gets going, it can get pretty monstrous. Just pinch off the tops when it starts getting too tall, it'll branch out.
Can't wait to see everything come in, it'll be a jungle tank before you know it!

Did you think about using flourite?

I will be starting a shrimp tank around the end of May.

I purchased a 15 gallon column tank and have basic start up ideas talking with Tim.

I have the same gravel in my tanks so I've got good seed to start.

                  Keep posting your progress. Thanks
