    Are apple snails legal?

Dorothy : How can you talk if you haven't got a brain?
Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.

From what I could find in google, they're not illegal to own, but illegal to import without a permit. Considered an invasive species on the tpwd website

Doesn't look like private breeding/sales will be affected. I still wouldn't ship them or anything, but I don't see why you can't do a local sale

I don't have any... and wasn't planning on getting any. Just curious.

Ahh okay, figured since you have every other snail known to man, that you would have those big ugly things too!

I don't want to carry things that are known invasives and destroying the environment. :)

I am looking at new snails though . . .

my golden apple snails breed like crazy, they have about 4 egg sacks in my snail/shrimp breeder right now. Last time took about a month to hatch. They make great puffer food lol. I will give you some if you want any next time I stop by.

Do you snails get as big as you fist?

I am pretty sure the racoons around here eat them. I find there empty shells on the banks of the shallow creeks surrounded by coon footprints.

I was thinking about picking up some of the bigger ones for my shell dwellers.

I wouldn't mind having some, provided they aren't illegal. In which case, I would never...did we decide if they are, in fact, legal?
