  • Water change question!

I recently got some cardinal shrimp from Rama (thanks Tim) and I just did a water change yesterday (about 20%). I was wondering if it would be safe to do another 20% water change tomorrow. I know that eventually I will only do 50% once a week but I recently added plants and the leaves that died during transport are dead in the tank now. I want to clean out some of the debris and also do another 20% for my tank. Is that safe?

    thanks guys!

      Re: Water change question!

Should be safe. Instead of doing weekly 50% water changes, cut it back to about 20-25% a week. First off, it's a planted tank, the plants will eat up some extra nutrients (food leftovers, fish and shrimp waste, etc.). Secondly, shrimp seem to hate huge changes in water parameters. They're real finicky about it.

Cardinal shrimp are real picky. Like mista said. they don't like big changes.
Keep an eye on your water perameters. thats the best way to set water changes.
