Unknown shrimp? Labeled as Amano

Still stick with my original assessment, Baubalti. Amano's just get too large and have a distinctive pattern you'd recognize, plus breeding them is crazy hard. Green Lace are right out, with no fans. Could be some sort of hybrid or oddball that came out of Southeast Asia, but it looks like a baubalti in size, breeding, and color so I'd guess it was. Might be a very washed out normal type neo from mixing numerous strains. Any info from your source as to its origins? In the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king.

No info from the source as he believes it's amanos. I'll talk to him and see where he originally got them from. After looking around, I agree with your ID. They have distinctive markings along their back that you can see in the video from above.
I thought it was a hybrid or a low grade neo at first, but the more I look at them, the more I think it's not. The body shape of the Neocaridina Heteropoda vs the Babaulti is different and the ones I have look more like Babaulti.Last edited by mistahoo; 05-25-2013, 05:48 PM.

Aristocramma is a decent site, just a bit hard to navigate and woefully deficient on any info or alternative pics. I have seen quite a few different Baubalti 'morphs' and they are tough to id. I've wanted some of the blackberry baubaltis, but they seem to hold a truer color morph then many of the others. Perhaps yours are from an earlier strain or maybe just mixed? In the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king.

I like the site for the big pictures lol. I find it harder to find decent pictures of the species than it is to find information on them. I think I'll try to line breed them to the blueberries as there's already a number of them that are blue.
