  • Nerite reproduction

I have a Nerite i think its a zebra nerite. The question is will this snail reproduce asexually or needs a partner to reproduce? I only have one and i have seen what seems to be babies from it. I used to have a breeding pair of assassins but i removed them to place the nerite. Are they babies or a pest?

Nerites lay eggs. Nerite eggs won't hatch unless you have them in brackish or salt water. What you have is pest snails.

This. Even the water hose from outside can introduce pond snails.

I dont use anything out side i use a seal water bottle when doing water changes. The pleco is been there for maybe a month or so and it came from tim, the fish came from tim. I have pretified wood and its been there for at least a year. The plants came from my main tank and i have no pest there.

Nerite snails need a male and female reproduce. Could they be assassin snails?
