Most things that kill or eat snails. Also eat or kill shrimp. You may need to just brake the tank down. Clean the tank very well and replace everything in the tank. then return the shrimp to their tank.

Takes a while for assassin snails to get rid of them but they do take care of the surface issue. With mts they lay eggs that get in the media so breaking the tank down may be on option. You'd have to get new substrate or hit the current substrate with copper safe while u break it down.

Clown Loaches will eat them as well, But Depending on the size of the tank you may need quite a few, Never put in just two, at least 3 -5 the more the merrier. They do better in large groups of 5-7 or more. They do work well at eating snails. Yo Yo loaches also do the Job. Most loaches are very ardent snail Destroyers.

I could rather go assassin snails to take awhile than take a risk on copper for my shrimps but thanks

Do NOT do this in a shrimp tank. They will eat your shrimp.

Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.

Do a snail trap with a 160z soda bottle cleaned up. Bait it with some shrimp food and snails will crawl in to get it and you can take it out daily or every other and dump all the snails until you have it under control. And then just squish the few remaining until you see no more

                        Snail trap.

Play a small trap container inside of the tank with something appetizing to the snail, such as lettuce, sea weed, algea food. Make sure it is not easy for them to escape. Once you have the snails in the container just take out and give away or dispose of however you want. May take more than one trial but slowly and surely this will take care of it and you won't have to use the the assassin snail option. The assassin snail way can work, but as mentioned above it will take a while.

I ruined the tank by added chemical. I break down the tank and turned it to SW
