  • ghost shrimp

I know they are considered feeders but i think there pretty cool. Dose anyone have any advice on keeping these guys and breading. Thanks

They are hard to breed. Their babies are really small but I did have some that survived. They are kinda hard to raise but it is possible. Keep in mind they are rather aggressive do not put them with other shrimp or you will lose some.

Agreed, they are a low order shrimp and there is conjecture they require some aspect we aquarists have a difficult time reproducing in the aquarium environment. My suspicion is possibly green water or its collected microinverts that their zoa might feed upon in the wild. I think it might be more easily accomplished in an outdoor setting.

Just depends on the shrimp and what your intended result is.
CRS, Tigers, soft water caradina - Aquasoil, Brightwell, Stratum, Akadama
Neos, Cherries, Malawi, Baubalti, Paleomontes, - Inert, planted like Eco Complete, Flourite, Sand, PFS
Sulawesi - Could go with Inert or use a buffering substrate like Aragonite

Many of the low order do not particularly care, but in reproducing can be very important. In most cases its easier and cheaper to buy more. Very costly and time consuming.

What would you like to keep? If you like the way they look. Thats what you should try.
