My new breeding stock is due tomorrow. I got them from Aqua Bid, final price $18 for 12 + 3 extras. price included USPS Priority which is just fine while the weather is warm.

Personally I can't wait till we get enough breeders in Houston doing a good variety of species!

Talking of breeding, don'r spose anyone here has a good sized male Cherax Quadricarinatus do they? I have female at good breeding size....

couldnt find the number to aquazoo today so i made the trip out there to pick up some rcs but they were closed due to an emergency. stopped by megan's tropical and they were out but i did manage to leave with a nice red delta betta and a very cool whiptail catfish/pleco . maybe ill find some tomorrow.

the guy i ordered the shrimp from refunded my money so i have two rcs and need to find some friends for it.

Let us know how it goes.  I'm interested in how the RCS are in other stores.  I'm currently looking for a lfs that has super red ones!  Good luck!

tropical emporium told me they would get some more during the week so probably next weekend? she said they were easy to get so im guessing a local breeder of some sort.

*sigh* most of my shrimp colony disappeared due to a bad run in with hydra. I didn't realize how bad they were for the tank, and then it got worse when I was out of town. :(

Id love to get into shrimp but I cant even keep ghost shrimp alive. Not that they have a need to last long for me ... just food for my little fire eel. The gf wants to start raising shrimp in a 10 gal but im not willing to waste my time when I cant even keep them alive until morning in my 55.

OneSickPuppy - It is possible that you are not getting healthy ghost shrimp. Where are you getting them from? Were they in brackish water/saltwater originally by chance? Starter shrimp like red cherry shrimp are relatively undemanding. You are relatively close to me (I think)... if you are interested, PM me and I can give you a dozen or so starters.
