Re: Any shrimp keepers on NW side?

yeah ia m loving my guppy grass, i think mzungu has that stuff too. i have java or christmas i dont care which in my new shrimp breeder. i got impatient and got my starter ones from village today. may get some from either Russ or you Michael to add new blood in a couple of months. gotta see how long it will take them to get really going. i have the najas(aka guppygrass) hornwort, and moss in their tew gallon and i just put an oak leaf in with them. my 60 is growing plants like crazy i love it, and my red nose keep trying to breed but until the plants grow in thicker, there wont be enough current lacking areasfor the larva to survive if ever. but at least they are happy enough to try

I would be interested in buying some of your shrimps.

I have also noticed a ghost shrimp eating one of my fry and they were pushing their way through the crowd of fishes to get to the beef heart.  I got them so they eat alge.  I'll have to see if my alge goes down.

Old fish water (nitrates) and standarad single flourescent light

If will usually grow in 3 out of 4 tanks and die off in the other, even when all 4 tanks are the same. My problem is that it gets so thick in my growout tanks that the fish get trapped and slowly die.

He would have continued but at that moment my very obedient daughter who was listening leaned over to me and asked quite audibly in her shrill little four-year old girl voice, 'Mom, what is butt dust?'

Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.

Does Prime have copper in it? Anything that has more than a trace of copper will kill decapods.

It seems every one i know that breeds shrimp use prime. I think the ammonia was high b/c of the tap water and then when i added the prime the ammonia went to zero and the shrimp just freaked out
