    Another answer; Yes and No.
    There are a variety of plecos ,some more cold hady than others.
    In my 3' deep pond ,the pleco was the first tropical to go with the cold weather . Yet we know they do fine in the ship channel and, for example, the Tiliapia pond complex near Magnolia (forget the name).

      Winter Plecos

      There are Plecos in the San Antonio river as well, but that is a spring fed and will not get as cold as your pond.

      There are many species of Plecos. They range from the Amazon basin (near the Equater) to Uraguay (Farther from the Equater than Houston).

      I would not advise over wintering Pleco in the Pond, unless it is spring fed or is a cooling pond for a power plant.
