Different fish. I bought a panda goldfish before the last auction, and it died within a week. After that I decided, no more small fish. So I went to a local koi farm and picked up the two orandas (the fish with the heads). I also picked up a ryukin at a local shop. I had my eye on it for months.Originally posted by eklikewhoa View PostAre those the same fish pictured above the recent post?
Catch that white headed oranda out and post some pictures of it! It looks like a stunning specimen!
Honestly, when the weather is right, I like this better than my aquariums....very relaxing.Originally posted by TexSun View PostIve been wanting to set something like this up at my apartment. thanks for sharing.

I picked one up last Saturday at 50 Fathoms, but found out it was not submergable. Now I have on on order that should arrive tomorrow.Originally posted by 76dragon View Postyou need to get a uv light to clear it out so you can see it clay
Yeah, I might start. I did one last Friday and was a lot easier and faster than I expected. I also have a very tiny fantail baby that I will eventually put out there. Right now, he is growing in my planted discus tank.Originally posted by eklikewhoa View Postor do a damn water change.

I now have a UV sterilizer. It has been on for 4 days now and made a serious difference....

and even after the 4 days, my assistant is still there in the same spot :)
Now I just need to get a large panda telescope from Extreme fish the next time I am in Houston.

Hey Clay, when your water hyacinth takes over the pond (and it will multiply quickly) could I get some from you? I haven't had any in years and love it in container ponds! I have a little wine barrel pond very similar to this one (mine has a second barrel on top with the spout pouring over) and it is plant bare at the moment! Thanks so much,

Sorry, but I am in Louisiana. I know it is illegal in Texas, but you might find some in the canals or ditches along roads. That is where I get it.Originally posted by Lydia View PostHey Clay, when your water hyacinth takes over the pond (and it will multiply quickly) could I get some from you? It is indeed illegal to possess or transport in Texas. With that said, it's all over the place. Oyster Creek near 59 has a ton of it and water lettuce. There's also a lot on the northeast side (Sheldon Reservoir and around Duessen Park). It's curious that you no longer see it in the local nurseries, yet they still have parrotfeather on display but not for sale (also prohibited).
