Question for all the pond keepers, I will be stocking a.1400g pond soon and wanted to know if you guys buy in bulk or just at random.

There isn't much reason to buy in bulk with 1400 gallons. I buy at random... but my pond is even smaller than that.Scarecrow : I haven't got a brain... only straw.

Do you care what kind of koi? I know a koi dealer. Always healthy stock with vibrant colors. Not like the championship koi but I have two that could be nearly show.

fish r us has a nice selection of koi, little pricey but nice fish, my lady has bought several there and was quiet happyComment

Planet fish ordered some nice koi from a guy named Taufik. I think he's pretty well known importer and they were about $12-13 per fish when I bought 20. They were nice quality with awesome markings. I actually got 2 sanku which is the white with one red spot on the head.
