anyways, there's a lot of herons here on the prowl from dawn to dusk, so aiming to shoot them all probably won't work. most people recommend blue heron decoys. you never see herons close together, they're solitary animals, so the presence of a decoy is a pretty good deterrent. i've been meaning to buy one myself.Last edited by decal; 06-20-2012, 10:34 AM.Comment

I've built several ponds and the one sure-fire way to keep birds out is a net raised about a foot above the water.
