Need a filter for pond

I am in need of a good filter for my parents pond. They have about 1000 gallons or so. I had cleaned and treated their water before putting in any fish but they still died. He has a pump for the waterfall but no filter. does anyone have a filter that I can set up from the outside? Please help... pm me or text me at 8325609210 thanks again.

You can buy a pond filter from Home Depot. You can also build one using a 55 gallon rain barrel.

Ptran, that 55g sand /gravel filter would need 15-2000 gph flow to make it work.
For his pond size, he would use sth smaller depend on the pump he has.

Ph, the filter is done, but my pond is not. So it has to wait to come into play.
