I swear by Pimafix and Melafix. I know some think it is snake oil, but I have had excellent results with both. I never could get that Jungle stuff to work.
Is there any way you can post pictures of the fish that have the fungus?
I will try if the are even still alive when I get home. I am wondering if I should get my fry out of there before they become extinct. Spot just sold me a 20 gallon. If I get it setup quickly I could move the fry there.
I got my 20 gallon setup and running and moved my male guppies out. Also this morning the fungus seems to have left the tank and the 3 surviving females appear to not be infected. I will probably move the fry out when I get home (1 died over night). I added 2 more jungle tabs yesterday along with a strong dose of stress coat. I also put in a powerhead to get the meds circulating. Once I have all the guppies out I plan on doing a large water change. The x-ray tetra were never affected.
If I can keep the fry alive though, I should have enough to repopulate my tank thankfully :-)
Sure thing. I tried taking some pictures for you Mzungu but I couldn't get a good enough picture. And thankfully now, since this morning, everything looks healthy again. I even saw two fry that I have never been able to catch in the tank and they have gotten big, they are at least twice the size of the other fry.
Oh, and those Jungle Tabs is totally snake oil. I wouldn't use them unless for some reason you want to turn your water green. For a little more money I got a liquid remedy that is all natural made from Indian Tea leaves (or something like that). Once I got this and put it in my hospital/nursery tank I was able to cure one female. Her left body fin is messed up but at least she will live.
