Black guppies

Well after my first trip to the auction I came home with some really nice black guppies.....the males are solid black from mouth to tail while the females are half black.

What I am wanting to know is will they breed true or are they fertile? Is there any trait/color I could/should breed into them to get some really cool guppies?
Also for those that were at the HLA auction...who was seller #2 cause that is where these came from and I would like to find out a little more about their lineage.

Ek - Wow beautiful, I did notice in the picture it looks like there is some blue pigmentation in the tail, but then again it could be just the picture.. they look great..   When the planted tank I have gets some more lights and some more plants I will take a picture of all the guppies that are in that one..

I saw three sets of them but these were the only ones that the males were all black.....Like you Walter the better half liked them so they had to come home.

Zululab, there is a slight sheen of metallic blue but it's faint...it showed up in the picture because I position the lighting more forward for a better picture and the camera picked it up.

Fire_chair, which one of the many people there were you? sorry if we met but I was really tired.

Ek, I think they look awesome :)  The planted tank I have has a couple of 1/2 red, yellow, black, a leopard skin, and a what looks like a split tail (when buying them I just asked the guy to give me a sample of what he had.  The females are pretty much plain.  I am not looking to breed a strain, but at some point I am going to have to fish out the extra's because like guppies in any tank, they are multiplying like crazy :)

I think I am gonna try and make some cool looking ones out of these.....time to look for another tank and more guppies!

You did notice that Petco has a sale on Tanks.. and like Cichlidfan said... "hey I can buy tanks without scratches on them"
I am worried about buying more tanks right now... simply because I dont have the money for it.

Well I think a few 10g's will suffice which are not on sale or at least I wouldn't wanna buy it at that price since some places sell them for $6-9ea.

Yeah I should have went for it but the misses was there and she would have cut that real short! I have to sneak them into the house so she doesn't notice so I have to do it when I'm alone.

Well mine doesn't say much either but there are 10 tanks going right now and three more that are staring me down waiting.  :? oh and those tanks are sitting in the middle of the dining room.

Those are absolutely gorgeous!!  I certainly would have bid like heck on them if I coulda gone!  I like that blue metallic sheen!  I've always been partial to the blue end of the spectrum.  For the last several months I've been pulling any bluish or blackish ones I can catch out of the guppy ponds outside and putting them together in one pond.  Of course now that I'm moving and having to condense until I can get some more outdoor ponds set up, it will disturb my plans...  :(
