Thanks, ya'll...those are really nice looking Mollies.
I have just a little Mollie envy...but I can sleep sitting up, maybe I can put another few setups in my apartment and some day add some to my Mollie program!

All my other tanks have gone on to better lives!
I got some Roatan Island Mollies from Christie at the HLA auction, and another tank...I still get to sleep lying down, but one more big tank and ....
One female is quite large, and seems to be gravid...yea! The other 2 females are small, one seems to be on the cusp of mature and may be with fry.
The male is still average color, but they get happier each week, and they have nice color as it is...
I am curious to see how the fry develop in my 55 when they spawn; I like the Roatan Island Mollies, they provide a good contrast to my Sailfins and are really active.

My fry seem to grow while you watch them; I think my last batch has doubled in size in the last 3 or 4 days. It looks like they slow down once they get about and inch, inch and a half. They eat a lot- flake, blood worms, krill, brine shrimp, and they like to eat the veggies I feed the bristlenose. The only thing mine haven't eaten are the fry and snails. They're a great fish, good luck with them.
So many things can be a mystery, when all we're seeking is freedom...
Thanks...they seem to be almost the same energy as my Sailfins, if anything a bit more active.
My Sailfins grow about the same rate, and I am just getting to the 2 month mark on my first spawn.
I am looking forward to my first batch of Roatan Islanders!
I keep my females in the 55, and the males in the 29...
I have 2-2 1/2" Sailfin females, and the 2 1/2" Roatan Island female is an Alpha fish, no one fusses with her.
The male is the same, although smaller; none of my Sailfin males mess with him.

The Roatan Island Mollies keep dropping fry, not too many but so far I have 3 sizes of fry in my 55.
I put the little male in with them, but I can't tell if he was successful; I think they are having stored sperm spawns, so hopefully I will get some with color in their fins from growing in my tank. They have the bright blue rows of dots on their sides, bot no color in the fins so far.
The fry do grow like the Sailfin babies, fast and very active. Soon the male will be big enough to do his job, and give me some 40+ spawns.
I do like the Roatan Island Mollies!

Once those stupid things get going they don't stop. I have more babies than I know what to do with. Luckily(?) both of my males died so things are peaceful and the poor females can relax for awhile.

I wouldn't count on it.
Like my Sailfins, Roatan Island Mollies can have stored sperm spawns several times after a breeding, that's where I got all my fry.
