    • Ok guys other quick update. Things have been happening that quickly i cant honestly keep up lol
A friend of mine breeds clown loaches and gave me a nice pair to put in my tank and a couple new guppys also :) all male

Now i have a question for you all, would the clown loaches be ok with the BN catfish ? I assume they may clean out my caves in the future when the eggs are layed ? what you think? But honestly atm i have more catfish then i ever expected with all the fry swimming around so it wont really be a loss if i look at it that way. If i ever want to breed them later on il have to seperate i supose because i have heard they may eat the eggs, if anyone has any experience or heard this may be likely please let me know :)

I will be stocking up some more livebearers this week so stay tuned , im just pretty much getting my tank going, algee eaters ( catfish) snail control ( loaches) and then il get the livebearers rolling

il post up some pics when my cams fixed

      • Re: Tysons livebearer's thread - Surprise! BRISTLENOSE HAD BABYS ?

The loaches will definitely eat any eggs and possibly fry.

A better option would be assassin snails. They will eat other snails, and the plecos can fend them off. Plus they won't be able to eat fry.

            • unless my bristlenose can be this protective ?

This is a close up of some of my baby Bristlenose catfish. There are 2 batches that can be seen here. The smallest are 4 weeks old and the biggest are 8 week...

              • well guys i removed the loaches, meanwhile ripping apart half my tank and finding stacks off rocks with catfish eggs , i felt really guilty but the job had to be done to protect my tank mates.

The loaches are now moved temporily to my 10gallon tank which i will be taking back to my friends 250gallon tank tommoro and switching for a bunch of guppies

                Cheers

Just curious, why did you remove the pleco eggs and why are you ripping up the tank?

                  • the pleco eggs were attached to a cave the clown loaches were hiding in and the cave was all around a bunch of rocks and i had to remove alll of them to get to it , was a headache.

meanwhile i did add a few new rocks and slates so theyl be much happier now

+1 Assassin Snails are awesome and my first recommendation on any unwanted pest snails. We keep MTS breeding in our Tanganyikan tanks and they can get crazy overpopulated. We feed them to our Fahaka puffer and she loves them. I don't recommend a Fahaka for snail problems though, lol

You could've put the rock with eggs in a bucket of water, but it's too late. What's done is done. I'm sure if they bred already that they'll breed again especially now that you've added more caves.
