Offering fish like this for sale in any LFS basically is the LFS's way of saying they do not care about the fish nor their customers. The entire premiss behind selling the fish is counting on it dying. They expect the fish to die. They know it will die. And they don't care. As long as it brings them a profit, then it's all okay.
This is about ethics. The LFS is exposing their willingness to not only screw over a customer by selling a fish that will result in the customer experiencing the death of their fish and the loss of the money they paid for it, but they're willing to doom an animal in the process.
If they are willing to sell a fish that they know will die, makes me wonder what else they'd be willing to do for a profit? What else are they willing to make money at the expense of the customer's emotions and the life of an animal? All for the love of money?
