from my experience, it is a bad practice. when they start eating feeder (small fish) like that, they will get to a habit to eat live fish, and may eat their own frys.

Agreed, except that most breeders will strip the female for eggs and put them in tumbler. They will never have a chance to eat the fry.

Actually, they already have that habit. My Leulepi and Brichardi breed like rabbit in the Moba tank, and I usually don't remove the fry. Only a couple fry made it sometimes. The rest became food for you know who.
