Re: Whoah, I think I found my problem

Thanks for sharing the pics! I liked seeing what the dragon fish have done with the place. When you think of the other plants' names, do tell!

Good job on the lights! Great solution for a really great price. Have you seen any bubbles from the CO2 solution yet? I haven't tried using an air stone, so I'm not sure what you should expect with that.

The "Mondo grass" might not do very well, as it is really more of a terrarium plant, bog plant, etc. And I've also never tried bamboo, so let us know how that works out!

Re: Whoah, I think I found my problem

Ok I have some MORE updates.. but no pics yet.. but they are coming

As far as the co2 goes, I sealed the vessel (bottle) at 9:30pm and by 10 pm when I left to go to work I had not seen any bubbles, however, when I got home the next morning it was bubbling away, I ran the air line down the back right corner, under the gravel and placed the are stone underneath the big flat holey rock on the right side of the tank, now it's bubbling away and the bubbles appear to be coming out of the holey rock.

It's only been a couple of days and I haven't noticed much of a change in the unknown plants (which will be named this afternoon, yay!)

But the mondo grass is beginning to look more green and less clear now, I have been hearing from a lot of people that it's not the best aquarium plant though so I may end up pulling some of them out and giving to my woman to put into her ugly stinky turtle tank.

I only say this because I am planning on going plant shopping in the next week or two once things start looking better for the plants I have. I even have a list of names that I'll post up here to get some opinions (I tried to stick to low light stuff)

On the bamboo, it appears to be doing great, the piece that I cut is already beginning to form roots (I noticed because I had to move it) and all pieces are bright and green as the day I got them.

Also, on the place where I got them from. I picked up some ferns/ivys/other stuff and while I was there I asked about aquatic plants, the owner of the place said she didn't keep them in stock but if I gave her a list of the plant names I wanted, she could call her wholesalers and special order me whatever I asked for. I don't know how you all go about getting your plants that are hard to find or whatever but this may be a good solution, the woman was very nice, I'll be the test mule and order a batch through her and post up my prices/experience/quality of plants to see what you all think.

Here are a couple of low quality pictures taken with my phone until I can get some better ones, the first picture hopefully shows the co2 bubbles coming up from the holey rock and the second photo shows the whole tank as it stands right now..

ooh, those really were low quality pictures.. The air bubbles are coming out in a steady stream, but you can't tell it from the pictures
