You can also help get rid of the film by laying a dry paper towel on the surface and lifting it gently back out. It will catch oils and such on top of the water.

When the regulator and needle valve are set, you shouldn't have to adjust anything for a steady output. When the tank starts to empty, the low-side pressure increases which will increase the co2 output. In stead of adjusting regulator or needle valve at that point it's best to get the tank refilled.

What are the facts? Again and again and again--what are the facts? Shun wishful thinking, ignore devine revelation, forget what "the stars foretell", avoid opinion, care not what the neighbors think, never mind the unguessable "verdict of history"--what are the facts, and to how many decimal places? You pilot always into an unknown future; facts are your only clue.

Haven't noticed anything that has leaked. I assumed it was evaporating because, since I've never used a bubble counter before, I searched a bit on APC a few weeks ago, and the most info I could find on bubble counters concerned the liquid evaporating, LOL. Apparently it evaporates for lots of people.

So is it possible to remove the bubble counter without messing anything up?

And thanks for the info, Mark. :) You're always so helpful. I think when we go out to eat (I'll PM you about it soon) we should all come back to our house and have you take a look and explain CO2 systems to me as if I were three. Seriously.

        And...another!

P.S. You can barely see it, but it's a new leaf. Again.

Nice... it will be good to look back at these pictures once it becomes a monster!
          Scarecrow : I haven't got a brain... only straw.
Dorothy : How can you talk if you haven't got a brain?
Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.

              Thanks, Tim and Brian! :)

I realize I should probably stop posting pictures of every...single...new...leaf..., but I just get so excited!

I like all the pics, MB. I think a journal should have lots of pics.

And I'll be more than happy to go over your co2 system with you. Maybe we can convince Geoff to let me put that switch on his lights while I'm at it. )

Well, thanks. At least one person doesn't think I'm completely annoying. Woohoo!

And yes, I think you and I could be very good at convincing Geoff. You'll talk about all the technical stuff, and I'll just stand in the corner emitting "the girlfriend sonar." )

Not yet. I should have done it before I set this tank up! It's not like I didn't have enough time...

                      )

Since I'm not about to empty out the tank in order to paint it, I'm thinking that I'll go to a crafts store or fabric store and try to find a yard of fabric/tablecloth/etc. in a color that looks good. Don't worry, I am still very much considering a dark purple. Thanks for the suggestion, Mike. :) It's either that or a kind of brick red/orange.

P.S. The Madagascar Lace has put out a couple more new leaves. I've been taking pictures every day - just haven't uploaded any lately. I need to - my memory card's probably getting full - I took a video of a lesser male Tricolor petro getting his big chance.

Don't worry about it. I stopped painting the back and instead use fabric, paper, acrylic sheets. what ever. It alows you to change the mood as well as play with backlighting.
