  • 10g Crypt Tank

    well, this is my low tech planted cryptocorne tank.

    the only plants going in here will be crypts.

    Specs:

    Aqueon 10g Tank (20x10x12)

    Filtration:

    Rena Smartfilter 30 HOB
    (Thanks Lorretta)

    have an Eheim Ecco 2234 but have yet to set it up.
    (Thanks Vanson)

    Lighting:

    Finnex 18" 24watt PC currently running an Actinic, but soon to be changed to a 6700K
    (Thanks Vanson)

    along with an 18" 3x 18watt 6500K Xenon Light, this light will be taken off after the bulb in the PC fixture is changed out.

    Heating:

    Aqueon 50watt Heater

    Substrate:

    A mix of ADA Aquasoil and Torpedo beach Sand (Thanks Miguel)

    Background:

    Black

    Plants:

    2x Bronze Wendtii (Thanks Tim)
    1x Crypt Lucens

    Making a trip to Fish Gallery this coming friday for some more crypts

    Stocklist:

    5x Assasin Snails (Thanks Thai)

    soon to add RCS

      Could come out really nice.

      Make sure when you buy crypts that you get it from a person with the same lighting.

      If not then most of the plant will just melt away.

        Good start Brian. If you can, remove the heater for a better clean look, plants don't need warm water and if the tank is inside the house you are done.

          Slope the gravel to add dept to the tank. Once the crypts grow in they will look more layered.
          I ate my fish that died.

                  Our resident crypt expert is Houstonfishfanatic...I mean, he knows crypts. He's even grown crypts emersed. I bet if you PM him, he'd post some advice or experience for all of us. :)
