  • HUGE DIY Co2 system on my 90g

so as most of you know, i have a 90g geophagus community tank and i recently planted it. I now want to build a BIG diy co2 system for it but the problem is, im running a proclear wet dry on the tank. my question is, would it be pointless to make a DIY c02 system on my 90 with my wetdry? even though the outtake of my wetdry and my rena xp3 are completely submerged? Even if it will benifit my plants just a little i would still like to build one because i already have it planned out. LET ME KNOW!!! THANKS!!

You're going to need massive amounts of co2 and to achieve that is from a pressurized bottle. The WD's gas exchange is the killer man.

+1, you can go with a w/d but with a lot of bubbles per second and a really good reactor.

Even with a MASSIVE diy system, your system will be inconsistent. Buy a used pressurized system for $100 and call it a day. You will lose at least 50% of your co2 in the WD alone.

With a massive diy system you will end up spending more in the long run refilling with yeast and sugar. I agree get a pressurized system and loose the WD if you can.

              You're gettin' good advice, Mark.
