eklikewhoa, I think you are crazy!! I was really enjoying reading this thread and pictures and then I see that you removed everything and started over. Do you still have the black wood? I don't want to hijack your thread (with my first post) but I am in the process of planing/purchasing stuff for my first planted aquarium. I was eying the tank, co2 unit, and light that you are using on this tank. Now after seeing your tank I think I am SOLD on the idea. I am a big reef geek and don't know a thing about freshwater planted aquariums. I will create a new thread and would love some input from you.
Wow, I missed this thread until you added the recent update. I loved the look and can't wait to see what you have planned now. I love how the fish appear to be peeking out from behind the rock. So cute.
After having a fellow reefer put this idea into my head, screenname egging it on and my thirst for more lighting over this tank (27w seems like it really lacking) I am going to attempt a 70w Metal Halide retrofit/DIY into the ADA Mini-Solar!
I will be ordering the ballast shortly and when everything comes in I will be tearing about the Mini-Solar and rewiring it for 70w MH!!!!! 8)
HAHAHAHHA Lets just rip up a $200 light fixture for fun!!!! 8O
