Its really just regular weeping moss but straight instead of being triangular shaped. Also gotta be specific when getting some even with the scientific name cause a lot of the hobby does not know (hence the tear down) and will think that xmas moss or taiwain moss is the same thing.
Ok so I got everything to mod my Mini-Solar with the 70w HQI.....now just gotta tear up the $200 light fixture without making it completely worthless 8O
Also, I got a second Mini-M from a homie so I will be doing dual 70w HQI, dual Mini-M, one reef and one planted! DUELING MINI-M's!
Rigged up the 70w over the break from HFB and have to say that it's freaking crazy!!!!
I am still waiting on the bulb but had a spare 14k bulb to test drive the light......literally seconds after it warmed up the marsilea minuta started pearling all over! I still need to work it all out details so that the spread is wide like it will be to cover the whole tank but it was a test trial just to see it work.
Now time to look for another one that's not full price for my Mini-M reef to complete the second half of the "Dueling Mini-M's"!!
I honestly think it needs work but I was too lazy to go look for new hardscape and decided to just let the MM grow out so I could have a lot to work with when it comes time to tear it down again.
When I tear it down and if I use a totally different layout I will trade you the rock itself!
The rocks are seiryu rocks from ADA....screenname actually went forth with a find I hooked him up with and he was loading hundreds of pounds of the stuff.
I use an old tupperware or a pho to-go cup....... about 50/50 mix of bleach and water.....let it sit for a while and it will clean itself...and it's not foam...it's ceramic. I usually leave it in the solution while I do water changes and it should clear out by then, be careful not to rub or brush the ceramic disc cause all that's gonna do is clog it up. After I soak it in the bleach I then soak it in water and de-chlorinator.
