    Wel i am on day 3 and everythng is ok the plants and fish look good is the incandesent and floresent light enough and will too much airation effect n e thing what about hours of lighting 4 the tank and how wil i know if somthng is going wrong wat 2 look 4

    45 gallon tank OB Peacock, asst. peacock, with albino oscars community
    10 gallon (fancey guppy, dwarfpuffer, mollies, platys)
    10 gallon Hospital tank
    2.5 gallon dragon betta male tank
    13 gallon plants only tank soon to B saltwater!!!

      With incandescent light, it's producing more heat than photosynthetic light. I'm not sure how much you'd need. With flourescent light bulbs, you should aim for 2-3 watts per gallon on a tank that size...could get by with less. How many total watts is your lighting (all together)?
      Aeration should not affect anything except it releases any CO2 in the tank into the atmosphere. Probably not as bug a deal as what I once thought.
      Look for signs of browning or yellowing on the plant leaves, pin holes, rotting stems, etc... If the plants look healthy and turgid, they are fine. Also check you new growth for nutrient deficiencies.
