The Hagen ladder works really good from what I have read so if that is what you have then stick with it instead of using a powerhead.

I don't have any CO2 system as yet. I see what you mean about the ladder on the Hagen system. Looks like it would be good. I was, however, considering the Seachem "Turbo" system because it says it is good for 'up to 40 gallon tanks' ,while the Hagen one says 'up to 20 gallons. No idea if one really produces more CO2 than the other, or if Hagen just chooses to err on the side of caution.  
The Seachem one comes with a powerhead and says to attach the gas line to it's Venturi, so I see what you mean there.  Has anyone tried one of the Seachem units for a smaller tank?

I meant to answer this a while back, sorry! But, the only problem I had when I tried the Turbo system was the venturi part of the pump, it's actually pretty noisy! But then, unfortunately, I moved and lost the outer part of the whole setup, so I've never used it.  :(

(However, if you use it and need replacement cartridges, I have a couple!)

haven't got the co2 on it yet....but the inhabitants of the tank and the plants i have in there so far are doing fine....i'll snap some more pics this weekend when i've done a water change again....and thanks for asking....
