  • Moss wall suggestions.

My current project is a moss wall for my other current project. I have seen java moss do well and saw somewhere about a red-ish moss similar to java. Anyone else have any suggestions? Links appreciated.

I have tried making a moss wall. It takes a lot of moss and grows very slowly. I eventually took it down because my fish keep getting trap behind it.

Java or xmas moss would work well. This was the project that was being worked on the first time that I showed up for a Lake Houston Aquarists (LHA) meeting. In my opinion, it didn't require that much moss, but it does grow slowly with CO2 injection.

Fish got trapped behind mine too.

Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.

I plan on growing it for a bit o think. And sealing it around the edges. Any good pointers will be great. I will post pictures of my materials later.

Since most mosses are slow growers you can try riccia. And for super fast growth you can remove all livestock and just overdose with co2 and add tons of lighting.

It will be empty except the plants. I am completely breaking it down and restructuring. So I can dose the crap out of it I guess. Not really an issue. I am talking with a plant expert and he is concerned about my plan for only a puffer. So that may be an issue.

Here is a link that might help. This guy always does great DIY stuff. Hope this helps spark some ideas.
This project was the result of two seperate things: 1) I wanted to create a wall for the Suesswassertang to attach to. 2) I also wanted to hide the heater. Pa
