Some closeups of a few of my plants

After 5 years with my current camera, I finally figured out how to take close up shots.  

Full tank with the sun shining on it:


Ammania senegalensis-the pink is the new growth.  I moved it to the center in order for it to get more light.


Rotala indica:



Red Tiger Lotus:


Java fern on a stump etc.


Green Tiger Lotus:


A new shoot off of one of the green tiger lotus plants-this one will grow 3-4" per day until it hits the top.

How is the Ammania senegalensis - difficult? Or does it grow pretty easily for you?

The whole composition looks great!
PS. Lotus in my tank blocks light very quick - removed 6 top shoots on fryday and rotalla indica started to get  some pink back. But I just love the "bronze" color when new shoot start growing.

PS. Lotus in my tank blocks light very quick - removed 6 top shoots on fryday and rotalla indica started to get  some pink back. But I just love the "bronze" color when new shoot start growing.

The red plant is red temple-I cant think of the scientific name off hand.  You have to clip the lotus quickly to 'train' it to stay low.  Every time I move them, I start over.  

The Ammania are light hogs, but do grow ok.  They need to be in the center of the tank as that is where the brightest part is.  They grow fast and will turn pink/red with lots of light.  The picture doesnt show their color well.  The new growth is very pink.  As they get taller, itll turn more 'salmon' color.  Cool plant-doesnt do very well after trimming.  Takes a bit of time after the trimming to start up again.

Does it mean I need to cut all of the surface lotus leaves?
I thought it's just how it growes and was affraid to harm it if I cut them all off.

You will need to cut the surface leaves.  You can usually tell when they are going towards the surface rather than laying low.  They are smaller and stay curled longer.
