Java moss grow with 2.4w led?

will javamoss grow in a 5.5 gallon with a single 2.4w LED? the light is enough to light up my shrimp tank, but im not sure how well the javamoss will live with it. light is on approximately 14 hours a day.

Your tank looks great.

I had a friend with a similar setup and her Java moss turned brown... but another friend of mine had good success with it. Try it and see what happens. :) Just don't dose Excel since it'll kill your mossball.

java moss in general will survive in almost any light at all. just have your light on 8 hour a day though, any more than that and it kinda stop photosynthesising and algae break out. i have some java moss in a 2.5 liter tank with a 9 watt light, left it on a timer and asked my mom to feed it and when i came back after a 2 month trip, my betta had to push it's way through the jungle

Man, java moss will grow with just room light, its crazy and almost impossible to get rid of.
I removed mine from my 75g almost 6 months ago now and I still have clumps popping up.

Java moss even does fine in like pitch dark. It's a super plant but the only way to get it to pearl is to put it in coke? I read this online

I'm pretty sure that was a joke. It will look like it is pearling from the carbonation in the soda. I've seen java moss pearl under CO2 and high light.
