  • What is this plant?

So I got some subwassertang in the mail yesterday put it in the tank. Did a water change this morning. I just noticed this plant floating around at the top of the tank...I am new to aquarium plants so please excuse my ignorance. Anyone know what this is?

What do you think? Should I plant it with root tabs since i have gravel. Or just let it float for a while?

Typically they are heavy root feeders (like swords) so I would plant and add some root tabs to feed it. Of course, when they're that small, if they don't stay planted I have let them float until big enough to plant and stay there.

Yea I just rubberbindered it to a piece of driftwood... When its large enough I will plant it or put into some driftwood...

Place it where the brown rhizome is in the substrate so it can root. After it starts to root, put a couple broken pieces of root tabs near it. It looks like Crypt. parva, which is a slow grower and stays very small. It also like moderate to high light.
