PICS! aquabee's 8 gallon planted nano

Hey all! I've had this tank since the end of last June but got off to a really rocky start with it, so I didn't post any pictures. I did learn a lot along the way though! It's finally settling into a haphazard sort of scape, so I thought I'd share. Plus, I'm excited about discovering 2 new sets of shrimplets and some baby assassins. Pardon the black beard algae... I've neglected my peroxide treatments for the past month or so.

The setup is a 7.9 gallon rimless Fluval Flora that I've jerry rigged a bit.
Substrate: Fluval Stratum
Lighting: Fluval Flora 13W x 2 (total 26 watts, somewhat low for a nano but it works for what I have)
CO2: Water Plant CO2 system for nano (off the GLA website)
Ferts: Seachem fertilizer tabs, and occasional supplementation with Excel and Flourish
Filtration: basic sponge filter
Flora: wisteria, red crypts, anubias, java fern, christmas moss... and some ridiculously stubborn BBA!
Fauna: boraras brigittae (chilis), green micro-neons, ruby tetras, tiger oto, gold oto, kuhli loach, yellow shrimp, assassins

Enjoy the pics! The micro-neons are hard to photograph but you can see them in the top 2 pics. The last one with the assassin is my favorite though.

Thanks Sunny! Actually there's nothing but sponge in my filter in that tank. Maybe it has to do with the plants or something, who knows!

Thanks Tater. The camera is actually just an old Canon PowerShot SD880is. I tend to use both the aquarium mode and the digital macro. The macro is just awesome for shots of baby shrimp.

Maybe in the future I'll work on some small pieces of driftwood or manzanita for the tank.

You know I did. Actually, I woke you up to see if you wanted some of that moss from my tank for free, since I'll be trimming it back soon. Now that I see how grouchy you are, I'm reconsidering my offer.

This tank is hella fun to watch... lots goin on in there. Maybe by the next meeting in Feb, I'll have some yellow shrimp to give away!
