The pennywort on the right above the cave is coming along nicely, though I need to rearange the tall crypts. The small crypts infront of the driftwood on the left and the stone on the right are growing well. the anubias on the driftwood has doubled since i bought it.
I have a sponge filter over the intake to the canister, the CO2 stone is bubling up into the sponge. I've attached some java moss to the sponge to help camouflage it and keep break down some of the much that settles in it. Filling in nicely.
I need more volume though. I want a big bunch of stem plants somewhere. nice bright red ones.
The dwarf sag in the middle (the blinding green stuff) grows very well but just doesn't do it for me. I want to pull the sag forward and put some stem plants behind it. or replace it entirely with HC if i can find some. What other small plants can i place in the foreground to add some interest on either side?
Also, I want some more of the soilmaster select to add some height in the back, but I don't need 50lbs more of the stuff.. there are a few dozen bags of the stuff in Houston at Lesco if someone wants to split a bag. (what I have in my tank is a full bag worth)

very nice tank gt, it looks different than most other planed tank layout i have seen, i can't wait to see how it all turns out when you are done with your plan, please post updated pix
what is the substrate EC or ADA?
who are the inhabitants? looks like i see an orange tail and a cory of some sort in the 3rd pic? what are your plans for future inhabitants?
65 gallon - ADA 120p - planted 55 gallon - AGA standard - mix cichlid 30 gallon tall - eclipse acrylic - semi-planted
I'd really like to ad more volume to the plants, and more elevation changes. I tried to add some elevation with the cave, rocks, and flagstone to the right but it just doesn't feel substantial. on the left I have some nice driftwood that seems to have been drowned out by the crypts. But I just love the way the row of crypts stands out.
I think I want to have the elevated corners very dense and tall and then taper it toward the center. give it a V shape. In the front have a plateau of very low green carpet plants.
I have one albino algae eater who is suprisingly calm, a few cories, a few ottos. and one lonely discus. The woman who gave me popeye my MBU puffer is giving me her discus shortly. I hate to see her get out of the hobby though.

Scarecrow : I haven't got a brain... only straw.
Dorothy : How can you talk if you haven't got a brain?
Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.
yes remember seeing them in another thread, but these seem updated :)
love the rock work on both of them, have you considered some small tetras for the 8gallon? maybe jelly beans? i love these guys, have to get some for myself one of these days

If you look closely, there are some rasboras in there. EK gave me a few brigittae and one merah. If you look closely, you can see a few of them at the top. They are so tiny that some of the cherries dwarf them!
EK, Im thinking of completely re-doing the 8 gallon now again. Also, just added the complete line of ADA ferts per your suggestion.

Fish Gallery got in a tank full of Maculatas.....I know how you lost most of yours so here's the time to restock! They also got a bunch of ember tetras too but I am going to wait a few days since they just got them in Monday and a lot of the new stock was looking a bit stressed or dead.....oooh forgot, they got blue neon rasboras......CLEAN!!!!
I need to stop by and check out those blue neon rasboras but my heart is really set on a nice little school of brigittae. The maculatas are nice...dont get me wrong. BUT, the brigittae look SOOOO much better.
