oh, and fishman76092, your tank is stunning. I love your layout and your school of neons/cardinals are breathtaking. What size tank is that?
Thanks-its a 180. There are about 125 Cardinals in there with some espei rasboras, rummynose, roselines, glass bloodfins and a few others I cant think of.

Here are some photos of the winning tank from last weeks HLA auction. Sorry about the quality of the photos. All tanks had to be setup at the auction in a short period of time by the way. This was not some tank set up at home and manicured over a period of months:
This is Eklikewhoa presenting the first place trophy to Mark Steblein who set up the winning tank.
Was out checking out some of Navarro's Trophs and snapped some pictures of the latest creation!.....the water was cloudy from stirring the stuff up but you get the idea.
this tank is nice and different from other scapes, i like how well the wall of vals look here, usually the way the vals grow in most aquariums is not attractive to me, but i am loving this one because of the uniformity and also because it is one layer all the way in the back as a true background, the driftwood set up is stunning and the anchoring of the woods with the nana looking plants is awesome, it almost looks like a fallenn tree with new life growing as regeneration, very nice work
how big is this tank? i can see the tetras, what are the grey/silver longish fish? are those some sort of "shark"?
65 gallon - ADA 120p - planted 55 gallon - AGA standard - mix cichlid 30 gallon tall - eclipse acrylic - semi-planted
The plant on the dw is Hygrophilia "wavy" I believe and to the right is a black amazon sword which is suppose to be really rare.
Background is Valisneria Nana and foreground is E.Tenellus.
The fish in the tank is something I forgot but hopefully Navarro will chime in with what they are.
For those that don't know Navarro is like a living legend when it comes to planted aquariums Our very own local legend just as are the Senske brothers which all have ranked very high in the AGA planted aquarium contest and Navarro has been featured in the Aquajournal which is Amano's magazine that comes out in Japan.
He is a member and I believe one of the founders of Nature Aquarium Society of Houston which a few of us here are members of which is really cool cause it's great to have someone that knows his stuff mingle with us little people and he really helps those in need and not snooty about it.
Yeah Luis can ID lots of plants emersed or not....so I'm looking forward to it too.
I have pm'ed about setting up a NASH section here on HFB so if and when that is approved there should be more announcements about the meetings/gatherings/plant swaps/collection trips.
Kool , thanks Q you did it as we need to let people here know that there is already a nice plant club in Houston with a bunch of gifted people as members. Hope you get a reply from Ken soon.
