actually.. nvm on the snail problem...

friend suggest put a small jar with a weekend feeder into it and the snails will be attracted into it

If you are going to go with Japonica or Amano's then I probably wouldn't get more then five....I made the mistake and got a bit more and they took over cause the are the least bit shy. With RCS you can get as much as your pocket book can handle but they work a bit slower then the Amanos and are easily picked off by fish.

As for the snails I use a coke bottle....cut the top third off and invert it into the bottom 2/3rds and put a algae wafer/lettuce/greens/etc. in it and just leave it overnight....dump in the morning and repeat.

If you don't overfeed the snail population will be controlled....when you overfeed that's when you will notice the bloom.
