+1. Though if you feed your oto's anything, I'm sure they like much of the same stuff.

I usually cycle my O-cats. once they get full and tank is low on algae I net them out and either give them away or move them to another tank.

Oh, wow, do we disagree on this. I love putting about 100 in a tank! I have had about 100 in my 75g tank, and I look forward to putting about that many in my 90g tank once I get it going. There is nothing as fun as a tank full of amanos!

Algae or not, I just love them. They're really cool when they start swarming all over the tank!

Plus, they're just funny. They go to all kinds of extremes to get the food: swimming upside down at the surface, playing keep-a-way with algae wafers, and you should see how they dive bomb a plant introduced into the tank that does have algae! I can put an anubias with algae in my 75g at night, and the next morning, it's picked perfectly clean! I can't imagine having a tank without a ton of amanos all over.

will they go after the BBA too complexity? (since i have never seen a single anubius without it!)

Not while the BBA is alive. But once you kill it with H2O2 or Excel, they readily clean up the dead BBA.

Mine has always become more into eating and stealing food from shrimp and fish. Plus they bully dwarf shrimp.

Yeah, I can see that being a problem. I don't have dwarf shrimp in my tanks with my amanos. I keep my dwarf shrimp in my nano tanks for fear that they'd get sucked into the filtration of my larger tanks.

I went yesterday to HAW to get some acid buffer, and I was not able to hold and up buying 5 amanos they are so sweet and now that I compare them to my other shrimp that I thought were amano and now for sure I brought the real thing, as soon I released them in the tank they started to work on the alage amazing shrimp.

An amano only tank would be interesting to do sometime, maybe with one type of fish..

I always find groups of RCS in my canisters, they don't seem to mind it in there! Granted RCS are impossible to eliminate! once introduced into heavily planted setups anyway.

Amano's find their way in there too.. Not sure how, but it gives me a good excuse to maintain my canisters once a month, if only to rescue the shrimps.

Raul, did HAW have very many amanos left? I need to stop by and get a few algae eating fish for my 90g, and I may get some more amanos while I'm there if they have enough. Otherwise, I'll just have John order me some more.

They had quite a bit, the 5 I took don't think it made a difference on the tank. But it was only one tank.
