Lol trust me I wouldn't go out of my way to dig this out. literally saw it in the creek like this and it was sunk. I had it sit out all day in the sun to let it dry off. Figured it would be cool to add to tank in the future after proper cleaning.
I like it. I have a similar piece in the shed but my eyes were bigger than the tank. I had to cut it down and havent had time to soak and clean properly.

I believe oak from the looks of it. If you ever been to meyer park here in Spring you can walk around the trees near the creek and ponds and see the oaks have odd and unusual shapes to the roots.
