Where did you get the albino red lyretail sword from, it looks like a female with a little hifin? I would like to trade for some of ther babies if she has any. Were there any other good looking ones left? You have to watch it your platies will breed with the swordtails.
Nice looking albino red male molly! Your tank is looking great. later, ken/mark
I got it at Fishland but there was only three females left and the other two did not look like they would make the ride home and the one I got was attacking the other two so I left them and just got this one.
I would love to get a male for it since the tank was just full of females......unless you think I can breed it with a regular sword and still pull lyretail from them.
We will give you a nice male that will work fine, he is bright orange regular swordtail out of lyretail stock. The percentage should be 50-75% lyretail. Male lyretails are very beautiful but almost always can not breed because their gonipodium is to large and we have a spare nice orange male lyretail you can have to put with her for display. In the future if you see some nice females could you pick some up for us & we will buy them from you especially if they are albino reds in the hifin or lyretail.
When I dropped off the mollies at Mikes last week he had a tank full of small mixed color hifin & lyretail swordtails. You would have to sort through them but I would have picked out a few nice ones to grow out (I was on my way to Austin so did not do so). Another option is to buy one of his hifin swordtails, their gonipodium should be short enough for breeding.
If you did not pick up any females to go with your albino orange molly I will give you a couple of my bronze females that need to grow out but should be nice breeders. I believe Charles from Goliad said that his bronze carry the albino gene becasue he is working with a line of albino mollies at their fish farm.
These fish are yours if you want them, would just like some spawn back some day when you have some to spare. Later, ken/mark
I will probably go out to Mike's towards the weekend and if he still has any I will get some from him but if not I will gladly take you up on your offer...as for the orange molly I was able to get one decent female to go with him. If I do see more like so I will be sure to nab it for ya!
MB, I want to put the val nana in the tank but the person I got it from and the majority of NASH said that it will do it's best in a co2 injected tank and even better with rich substrate so it is in my other 30g right now. I am really considering injecting co2 in this tank now to get things looking good and because I have a spare tank/regulator laying around but we'll see.
I am loving the pencils! the cruise around the dw pecking at bits of food and dart across the tank when it comes feeding time! I might go back and get some more of them.
they really are fun and when ou get a good group they school like crazy. at least my dwarfs did, and i really like the little fin flutter. but your livebearers are lookin great.
Never fear I is here
