    Re: Livebearers Paradise!

When I was younger I rember red swords as deep red with black tail/swords.....that's what I'm looking for.

I found some really nice panda cories at fishranch and they were small so I got a group of them alos got some fire platies too.

I will be stocking this tank at random actually....nothing too complicated.

As for the dead area I plan on going to city pets tomorrow or this weekend to get some blackwood to fill it in.

Are you still looking for pygmy/dwarf cories? Have you seen any?

          Re: Livebearers Paradise!

Well I ended up with 7 of the panda corys so I think I am good on corys also the pandas are slightly bigger then what I have seen dwarfs at.

Anybody seen those platies or mollies that are red and white? think its piebald or something like that.

                      Re: Livebearers Paradise!

Well its still low tech since not a drop of ferts will be dosed...I did dose potassium and green bactor when I first set it up but that's all.

The lighting stays on for only a few hours so its just for viewing purposes.

The fish came from FishRanch, I have been eyeing the platies for some time now so I ended up getting some and while browsing around I saw the tank full of pandas so I got some of them too.

Tiapan I used ADA woodtight to tie the moss and have used it several times now and it works really well......stays on just long enough for the moss to take hold then it dissolves from there. I usually use the ADA fern tie stuff too but it would have looked bad with the massive driftwood so I stapled and super glues the roots of the windelov.

Really? That's interesting...I didn't think super glue would be safe.

                          Re: Livebearers Paradise!

It works.....works on moss somewhat too but I didn't want to bother with it. I just used a little bit to hold it till it can attach itself nothing drastic.

I use superglue all in my Reef tank to glue corals to the rocks and nothing in there seems to be bothered by it.

                            Re: Livebearers Paradise!

As of 8pm thursday evening (9/13) fish gallery had lots of pygmy cories.  priced at 1.99 ea or 10 for 15$

I had to have some of course and have a bunch of store credit I need to use.  Theyre just so high on prices that I hate shopping there.

I might swing by there tomorrow and see...I have now 6 panda cory cats (lost one over the day/night) so 10 of those dwarfs would look sweet in the tank!

Thanks Spot for the heads up!

hey, is there any other cheaper source of ADA products or close substitute other than the aquarium design group website?
